Welcome to Our Little Corner of the Internet 💕
As summer of 2025 nears the end, we are very happy about having met all our followers and customers in person at the Kansas City Third Friday Art Walks. Come and see us as we attend the Autumn Harvest Festival on October 5th in Lawrence, Kansas, for the very first time! We will be at the South Park by Downtown Lawrence from 11am to 6pm. We can't wait to see you there!
Con el verano de 2025 a punto de terminar, nos alegra mucho haber conocido en persona a todos nuestros seguidores y clientes en los Art Walks del Tercer Viernes de Kansas City. ¡Vengan a vernos, ya que asistiremos por primera vez al Autumn Harvest Festival el 5 de octubre en Lawrence, Kansas! Yvelisse Ramirez
Yvelisse (Ee-vel-EES) has lived in Kansas most of her life. She and her husband are Lawrence locals who enjoy the arts and crafts scene, as well as their rotating door of foster kittens from Lawrence Humane Society. Yvelisse began crafting homemade cat toys as an alternative to holiday ornaments--ones that kittens wouldn’t knock over and break! She continued making them to photo with fosters in the hope of encouraging adoptions. She is excited to share her craft with you! Yvelisse encourages that all kitten and cat owners monitor their animals during play.
Yvelisse ha vivido en Kansas la mayor parte de su vida. Ella y su esposo son residentes de Lawrence y disfrutan de las manualidades. Tambien cuidan gatitos del Lawrence Humane Society. Yvelisse comenzó a crear juguetes caseros para gatos como alternativa a los adornos navideños, ¡unos que los gatitos no tirarían ni romperían! Continuó haciéndolos para fotografiarse con los animales con la esperanza de fomentar las adopciones. ¡Está emocionada de compartir su arte con ustedes! Yvelisse anima a todos los dueños de gatos y gatitos a que vigilen a sus animales mientras juegan.
Matt Martinez
Matt is a Kansan, born and raised, who has lived his whole life in the NE Kansas corner. Matt recently graduated from KU with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. In his free time, he creates hand-carved wooden block stamps, which he inks with acrylic paint and stamps his art using a Japanese technic for wood relief prints. Matt draws his inspiration from the natural world. His print he presents today, Roses in the Sun, is inspired by his wife’s rose bushes blooming in early June, orange and red. Enjoy his work at the pop-up gallery or buy a copy to enjoy at home!
Matt, nacido y criado en Kansas, ha vivido toda su vida en el noreste del estado. Matt se graduó recientemente de la Universidad de Kansas con una licenciatura en Ingeniería Mecánica. En su tiempo libre, crea sellos de madera tallados a mano, que entinta con pintura acrílica y estampa con una técnica japonesa para impresiones en relieve. Matt se inspira en la naturaleza. La impresión que presenta hoy, "Rosas al Sol", está inspirada en los rosales de su esposa, que florecen a principios de junio, con sus tonos naranja y rojo. ¡Disfruta de su obra en la galería temporal o compra una copia para disfrutarla en casa!

In the month of June we have much to celebrate. We want to establish this LLC as a collaboration of artists in the area, a coalition with similar goals, who are passionate about contributing to their community. Bringing in more artists and makers also means--more product! Look out for us in July as we introduce local makers who are working with us. Meet us at our first in-person booth at next month's Third Friday Art Walk in KCK!
We would also like to recognize our LGBTQ+ family, friends, and community members during Pride Month. The people around you not only teach you about themselves, but they teach you who you are. Embracing and celebrating the diverse walks of life in our community teaches us to be more empathetic and lifts a community. Everyone in our community deserves a voice and everyone matters.
En el mes de junio tenemos mucho que celebrar. Queremos establecer este negocio como una colaboración de artistas en el área, con metas similares, quienes tienen pasión para su comunidad. Atrayendo más artistas y creadores también significa ¡más producto! Esten atentos en julio mientras introducimos artistas locales que están trabajando con nosotros.
¡Ven a conocernos en julio, nuestra primera tienda en persona, durante la feria de arte del tercer jueves en KCK!
También queremos reconocer a nuestras familias, amigos y miembros de la comunidad LGBTQ+ durante el Mes de Pride. Las personas que nos rodean no solo nos enseñan sobre sí mismos, sino también sobre quiénes somos. Aceptar y celebrar la diversidad de nuestra comunidad nos enseña a ser más empáticos y fortalece a la comunidad. Todos en nuestra comunidad merecen voz y todos importan.

This month, our goals include completing the quilt and shipping it to the buyer, finalizing the draft of the rating system for the materials review, and celebrating the wedding of our best friend! There is a lot to do, and it is all done with lots of love for the art, friendship, and work!
In addition, we would like to extend our warmest wishes to all the wonderful mothers out there on Mother's Day! Specifically, we would love to wish our dear moms a happy Mother's Day. They are always there to support us, offer advice, and cheer us on!
Este mes nuestras metas incluyen terminar la colchita y entregarla, terminar la formulación del blog de criticas sobre materiales, y celebrar la boda de la mejor amiga del mundo! Hay mucho que hacer y se hace con mucho amor al arte, la amistad y al trabajo!
También queremos felicitar a todas las super mamás del mundo. En especial queremos apreciar a nuestras mamás, que nos brindan todo el amor y el apoyo del mundo. Siempre están ahí para nosotras, para darnos un consejo o un empujón en la vida. Las queremos mucho!

There are so many projects to complete! Currently on the to-do list, we have to market prep, garden, plan a wedding, begin the writing process for the blog, and begin the quilt-making process. These two cats were made using the greenfrogcrochet pattern, which can be found on Etsy. Stay tuned for the pattern review! We're currently working on our rating system for patterns and materials. Find the link to the pattern and my making of it below, in case you don't have time to make one.
Este mes tenemos muchísimos proyectos. Hay que empezar preparaciones para el mercado, trabajar en el jardín, planear una boda, empezar el proceso de escribir el blog y empezar una colcha. Estos dos gatitos preciosos fueron echos con el patron de greenfrogcrochet, y se encuentra en su etsy. Pronto empezaremos hacer criticas de diferentes materials y guías de crochet. Black History Month
Black History Month
We wanted to celebrate and recognize our African American friends this black history month. We decided to learn about the life of an incredible woman in medicine.
Dr. Canady practiced as a pediatric neurosurgeon. She graduated from the University of Michigan with her medical degree in 1975. She persevered through many challenges and became chief of neurosurgery in 1987 at the children's hospital of Michigan. She retired in 2001 from her position.
It is incredibly important to see diversity in our careers, leadership, and classrooms. Not only as children, but as adults as well. Being able to draw knowledge from many sources leads to innovation and progress. This is why we strongly support DEI programs. We should be able to hold ourselves accountable to a standard of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Este mes de la historia afroamericana queremos celebrar y reconocer a nuestros amigos afroamericanos. Decidimos aprender de la vida de una mujer increíble en la medicina.
La Dra. Canady, era una neurocirujana pediátrica. Se graduó de la Universidad de Michigan en 1975 con su título de medicina. Superó mucha adversidad y se hizo la jefa de neurocirujía en 1987 del hospital para niños de Michigan. Se jubiló en el 2001 de su puesto.
La diversidad en nuestras carreras, el liderazgo y en nuestras escules es increíblemente importante. No solo para los niños si no también para los adultos. Como seres humanos, la fuente de nuestra sabiduria y el conocimiento viene de la diversidad. Por eso apoyamos fuertemente los programas de diversidad, equidad, y la inclusividad. Todos tenemos el deber de mantener un estándar de diversidad, equidad y inclusividad.

Happy holidays!
We wish you a happy end to our holiday season. This January, we created art and a teaching lesson plan for Kansas Day! Kansas officially became a state on January 29th, 1861.
Les deciamos un final feliz al feriado. Este enero creamos arte y una lección para maestros con el tema del reconcimiento de Kansas como un estado. Kansas se reconoció como un estado el 29 de enero del 1861.
